Here are the unwanted effects when you drink too much coffee

Are you feeling anxious?

When thinking about an upcoming event or a deadline to get work done, you tend to make yourself a cup of coffee. However, the US National Institute of Mental Health recommends that people with anxiety avoid caffeine. According to Everyday Health, caffeine can make feelings of anxiety worse, make it difficult to sleep, and create conflicting feelings. Instead of drinking coffee, you should practice deep breathing exercises.

You have a stomach ache ?

According to Webmd, European scientists have shown that certain ingredients in coffee can stimulate stomach cells to secrete acid. Over-the-counter medications can help neutralize the acid temporarily, but if you suspect coffee is giving you an upset stomach, change your coffee habits.

Heart beat fast

You feel your heart beat so fast it feels like it’s going to jump out of your chest. Palpitations can be caused by caffeine, nicotine, or alcohol use. In some cases, a fast heartbeat can cause dizziness or fainting. One of the remedies for this situation is to avoid caffeine.

You have diarrhea ?

We all know coffee has a laxative effect and increases the number of bowel movements. However, according to the World Gastrointestinal Disorders Organization, drinking more than 2 or 3 cups of coffee a day can cause diarrhea. If you can’t control the problem of going to the toilet, you should give up coffee gradually.

You can’t sleep

Insomnia is a sign that you are drinking too much coffee. Even if you find coffee does not cause any effects, this drink will disrupt your physiological sleep. According to the Mayo Clinic, coffee can stay in the body for up to 14 hours, increasing your nighttime wakefulness as well as decreasing your sleep time. To solve this problem, you should drink your last cup of coffee before noon.

Do you feel panic and fear?

Coffee can help you feel more alert, but too much of it may not have the desired effect. Caffeine speeds up the transmission of the central nervous system, making you feel jittery, scared, according to Livestrong. Don’t use the fourth cup of coffee of the day, but try other drinks instead.

You have a headache

Moderate amounts of caffeine can make headache medications work more effectively, according to the Cleveland Clinic. That’s why you see caffeine in the ingredients of many over-the-counter headache relievers.

However, if you drink too much coffee during the day (more than 500 mg of caffeine, equivalent to about 5 cups of coffee), you may develop symptoms such as headaches, fatigue. Slowly reducing the amount of caffeine in your diet from coffee, headache relievers, teas, sodas, and energy drinks will limit the symptoms of headaches.
